FTP Access

How to access your web hosting account via
FTP to move files to the hosting environment.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the most commonly used method for uploading your files to your web hosting account. It also allows you to set up designated directories in your site for people to upload or access files as well.

To access your web site via FTP use any FTP compliant program such as WSFTP Pro or any Internet browser that has the FTP extension or addon installed within it.

Typically we set up a FTP account for you on creation of your account with us, that login and password would have been sent to you upon set up of your web hosting account. This FTP account is the master account and gives access to every area of your web site so definitely don't give this out to anyone you don't completely trust and keep the password well guarded and difficult to figure out. You should create additional FTP user accounts if other people are going to have access to the web hosting account. This is done from the Web Hosting Control Panel.

Setting up a New FTP account:

  • Go to the Control Panel and enter your user name and password.
  • Click on "FTP Accounts" under "Files" category (Or search for FTP Accounts)
  • Click on "FTP Accounts"
  • Enter Login and password for the FTP account
  • Enter the directory name you'd like the FTP login to open. (Leaving empty opens to root directory - WARNING, That's full access )
  • Enter a quota amount of storage if you like. (Can't be more than your account limit)
  • Click Create

That's its!
